About Us

Tradition with a Twist

Langlois, Wilkins, Furtado & Metcalf, P.C., has been dedicated to serving insurers and businesses throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Although our focus is insurance defense and Workers’ Compensation, our services expand from general counseling to highly specialized assistance and advice. Our firm is proud to represent insurance carriers, private and public risk management tools, and self-insured individuals in the defense of personal injury and property damage claims. We regularly handle extremely complex insurance cases, both in Federal Court and in the State Courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We help identify and resolve coverage disputes quickly and effectively.

Our practice areas include: Property and Casualty Claim Defense, Worker’s Compensation, First Party Coverage Litigation, Coverage Opinions, Employment Litigation, Defense of Auto Rental and Leasing Companies, Defense of Auto Dealers and Manufacturers, Professional Liability, Toxic Torts, Construction Law and Wrongful Death Claims.

Our attorneys all have strong ties to the local communities in which they practice and frequent the local courts on a regular basis. This is of key importance as in many instances judges, opposing counsel and attorneys selected to be arbitrators/mediators are familiar with our attorneys and interact with them on a professional basis as well as at local Bar Associations’ charitable events. This allows us to have a keen insight in determining case outcomes as well as assisting in decisions such as whether to try a case, submit a matter to alternative dispute resolution or resolve it through settlement.

Long years of practice have allowed our attorneys to obtain a wealth of information that assists our clients in the decision-making process. As any legal proceeding can be a daunting and stressful experience, we work hard to limit the impact a case will have on both your personal and professional well-being. As a client of LWFM, we will be with you every step of the way, providing a proactive approach that anticipates potential risks and protects your interests above all else.
