Furtado speaks often to small business groups on Workers’ Compensation issues and he has drafted numerous pieces of legislation that have been enacted into law, including various small business tax credits as well as enabling legislation for the Judicial Nominating Commission.


Mr. Furtado handles a wide range of issues in these areas for both self-insured employers of all sizes and insurance carriers. This includes Workers’ Compensation matters from pre-trial to trial through appeals, as well as civil matters all the way through discovery to settlement or jury trial, appellate representation and Supreme Court briefing and oral argument. Mr. Furtado has argued several Workers’ Compensation cases the Supreme court has heard over the last three years.
